Alessandro Licata (Italy)

Alessandro Licata studied with Fernando Germani at ‘Santa Cecilia’ Conservatory of Music of Rome; in 1977 he got the first prize at the Masterplayers International Music Competition in Orvieto.

His career includes concerts in Italy as well as in Poland, Portugal, Spain, Canada and Sweden then in September 2011 he took part to the international event “Interpret Baroque” organized by Tianjin Conservatory and Beijing Central Conservatory in China, with a concert dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach in Beijing and a lecture upon “Fernando Germani and Johann Sebastian Bach” in both Conservatories.

He teaches Organ since 1976 and currently at ‘Santa Cecilia’ Conservatory of Music in Rome. He is in demand as professor, member of competition commissions and speaker in several workshops and seminars specially focused on Johann Sebastian Bach’s opus.

In 2010-11 he supervised the restoration works of the great Walcker-Tamburini pipe organ of the Academic Hall of Rome’s “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory of Music.


Silvano Rodi (Italy)

Silvano Rodi studied Harpsichord and Organ at the ’N. Paganini’ Conservatory in Genoa, in the classes of Alda Bellasich and Attilio Baronti. Advanced studies where done with Daniel Roth (Cremona), Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini and Louis Gonzales Uriol (Pistoia) and René Saorgin. In 1985 he obtained the ‘Premier Prix’ at the Conservatory of Nice (France).

He founded the ‘Collegium Musicum Alpazur’ focused on Italian and French music of the late baroque; he also plays with Philippe Emmanuel Haas (Panflote).

As a concert organist he has performed in Italy and across the whole Europe.

Official Organist of Monaco’s ‘St. Devote’ Church and Honorary Inspector for the Italian Ministry of Culture he is also Director of the Commission for the Care and Restoration of Historic Organs in the Diocese of Ventimiglia-Sanremo.

He has recorded some CDs and he has published various articles on the restoration of Italian
early organs.

Since 1998 he teaches organ at the ‘Conservatoire Départemental de Musique des Alpes-
Maritimes’ of Nice (France).

strong>Chris Paraskevopoulos is a very talented Greek organist. As one of the few organists to be found in Greece, since 1991 he has organized a series of organ concerts in various churches in Athens and other cities of Greece. He is vice president and co-founder of the “Friends of the Organ Association,” which aims to install new organs in churches and and ensure its maintenance. He is also the artistic director of the music festival that has taken place since 2009 in the church of St. Francis in Rhodes. In Greece he is a well known and much appreciated teacher of the organ, at the Philippos Nakas conservatory in Athens.

Chris Paraskevopoulos was born in Athens. His musical education began early under the tutelage of the renowned piano teacher Mrs. Evangelia Hasapladakis.

He is a graduate of the Athens National Conservatory in pianoforte from Kate Truli’s class of 1994 and also in composition from Spyros Klapsis’ class of 1997. He is also an LRSM recipient in organ music and a former student of Athens’ Concert Hall organist Mr. Nicholas Kynaston.

He has organized a series of organ concerts in various churches in Athens and other cities of Greece and has given many concerts in the Athens German Lutheran Church as one of its organists where, since 2012, he has been its main Organist and Director of Music. He has performed in various other churches and concert halls in Greece, such as, the First Greek Evangelical Church of Athens, St Paul’s Anglican Church of Athens, St Paul’s Catholic Church in Piraeus, the Sacred Heart of the Saviour Greek Orthodox Church, the Chanea Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the Athens National Opera Centre, the Athens Concert Hall, and the Parnassus Concert Hall. He has also played in organ concerts with other artists from the National Opera, the National Radio Broadcasting Company, the Athens Chamber Opera, the wind section of the National Orchestra of Athens, the Athens State Symphony Orchestra and Choir, H2O Opera and other musical groups and organizations.

He has taken part in two Organ Festivals at the Athens Concert Hall organized by the well-known organist Mr. Nicholas Kynaston. He is the Artistic Music Director of the Annual Music Festival of Rhodes that takes place in the Catholic Church of St. Francis, Rhodes, where he gives organ recitals and organizes other musical events throughout the year. He visits Rhodes frequently to play for the liturgies, organize the choirs and assess the condition of both organs.

He has given recitals in the church All Souls, Langham Place in London at the International Organ Series Festival, in the church of St. Saviour in Jerusalem at the International Festival “October Organ Series” and in St. Francis Church in Rhodes since 2009.

In 2008 the choir “Musica Sacra,” which performs sacred choir music from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, was founded and is conducted by him. This choir is unique in all of Greece in performing only this kind of music.

He recorded two CDs in 2007. One for organ music entitled “A Mighty Fortress is our God” and the other “Christmas Melody.” He has been invited to record a new disc with organ and choir music.

In Greece he is a well known and much appreciated teacher of the organ, at the Philippos Nakas conservatory and also gives singing and voice coaching lessons at the St Andrew’s Byzantine Music School.

Reverend Pedro Alberto Sánchez, O.S.A., is the Music Director and Organist at the Real Monasterio del Escorial and Director of the ‘Semana Internacional de Organo de Madrid’. He was member of the famous boys’ choir at the Real Monasterio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial and studied in the Music Conservatory of Madrid ‘Arturo Soria’, where he graduated with the degree of Organ Professor.

He then moved to Rome to attend the well-known Conservatorio ‘Santa Cecilia’ advancing in organ and composition in the classes of Ottorino Baldassarri, Jiri Lecjian, and Federico del Sordo, in the meantime was a member of the Schola at Saint Peter’s Basilica. Later he continued his studies at the Pontificio Instituto de Música Sacra where he specialized in Gregorian Chant and Improvisation.

Father Sánchez received also a Master’s Degree in Organ Pedagogy from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Madrid. He has performed organ concerts in Spain, Mexico, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Panama, Belgium and the United States of America.

Davide Mariano (b. 1988) is certainly the most active Italian organist on the international scene of his generation. He has appeared as a soloist, also with orchestra, in Europe, USA and Asia. He has given lectures and masterclasses on organ music in Japan and for the American Guild of Organists in the USA.

Davide is prizewinner of about 6 international competitions including the St. Albans International Organ Competition and has been organist in residence for one year at the Sapporo Concert Hall ‘Kitara’ (Japan) and organist in residence at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans (USA) from December 2017 until April 2018.

His studies included: the Artist Diploma in organ from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse of Paris; a Master’s degree in organ and a Master’s degree in harpsichord, with the Honorary Prize of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna; the diploma in organ at the age of 19 at the Conservatory of Music ‘Lorenzo Perosi’ in Campobasso (Italy).
